During the acceleration test, the rider first enters the preparation area from the track, where the motorcycle is handed over and prepared for the test. The rider is then guided by the starter to the starting line and must follow the starter’s instructions immediately.
The motorcycle is secured against rolling backwards using a brake block on the rear wheel. The starter then activates the starting light sequence: one red light, two red lights, followed by green – the signal to start.
The riding time is measured by a light barrier and automatically linked to the rider’s start number. Braking is not part of the acceleration test, so the rider must accelerate continuously up to the measurement point.
After passing the measurement point, the rider enters a sufficiently long run-off area. Stopping is not permitted in this area. Only after leaving the run-off area may the rider make contact with the passenger rider again.
